The Brief
To design an extension and first floor additions accommodating 2 growing children. The design should also include future plans to accommodate a new laundry and increase in floor area to the lower Livingroom.
The Result
The first floor additions needed to accommodate the client requirements now and into the future. The outcome has seen the growing children relocated to the upper floor extension with the upper level including 2 bedrooms, living space, study nook and shower room. The first floor living space was designed to capture the North Eastern breeze while harvesting Northern Sun which fills the first floor and stairwell. The bedrooms are generous by size allowing the children to grow into their rooms not out of them. The lower stairwell was position to shed light into the existing hall which adds to the ambient space.
The remaining area adjacent to the stairwell is ready for stage 2 of the renovation which is designed to increase the living area of the home allowing more natural light and airflow to the rear of the home while being positioned to overlook the rear pool and gardens.
